Sugar Rush Peach has quickly become one of our favorite varieties to grow, due to the perfect combination of sugary, tropical sweetness and a nice blast of heat!
The Sugar Rush Peach pepper comes to us from Wales, Great Britain. In 2012, a Welsh pepper breeder discovered these through a natural mutation of a South American red pepper variety. The unique sweetness and moderate heat made Sugar Rush Peach a hit among pepper growers. Since the pepper’s introduction, growers around the world have discovered other varieties that mutated from the original Sugar Rush Peach. One variety you might find at our booth is the Sugar Rush Peach Stripey, which has the same sweet heat profile as the original but features gorgeous red / orange striping on the pods.

Flavor Profile
Sugary sweet, with notes of citrus, apricot and peach, followed by a moderate kick of heat.
Scoville Heat Units (SHU) or Spiciness
Sugar Rush Peach peppers are considered a “moderately” hot pepper, with heat levels ranging from 25,000 - 50,000 SHU depending on variety.
Comparison: These peppers are very similar in heat level to a Cayenne or Thai pepper. Spicy but great for cooking with!
How do I use this pepper?
Sugar Rush Peach is best enjoyed as an addition to sauces and salsas. Try our “Sugar Rush” pepper sauce for an example of how sweet and heat make an excellent pair!
